Something Folded

Exhibit highlights accordion books

There’s more to the art of a book than the words inside, and the concept of books as art will be at the heart of the Illustrated Accordion exhibition at the Kalamazoo Book Arts Center Gallery, 326 W. Kalamazoo Ave.

The exhibition, set for April 9–June 18, focuses on books created in the accordion form, in which a long piece of paper is folded into pages that can be read like a book or spread open and displayed like a banner. This non-juried exhibition will include works by book artists from across the globe.

The KBAC gallery is open 10 a.m.–5 p.m. Monday–Friday. For more information, visit kalbookarts.org/events.
